Project Description:
Recognizing that gender-based violence is not just a women’s issue but a societal one, our club organized TATAY TALK, a focused forum designed to engage fathers and male community members in the conversation on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).
Held in Barangay Pansol, Quezon City, this intimate and impactful session welcomed 16 male participants and was facilitated by guest speakers Mr. George Pimentel and Mr. Danny Sio from the Responsible Parenthood – All Natural Family Planning Network.
The forum aimed to:
-
Raise awareness of the forms and impact of violence against women and children
-
Promote responsible fatherhood and masculinity
-
Encourage men to become advocates of non-violence, respect, and gender equality within their families and communities
By fostering a safe space for open dialogue, the forum helped shift mindsets and encourage accountability among male participants—affirming the role of men as crucial partners in Zonta’s mission to end gender-based violence.
Zonta International Goals Addressed:
-
Goal 1: Preventing violence against women and girls
-
Goal 2: Engaging men and boys in gender equality efforts
-
Goal 3: Promoting respectful relationships and healthy family dynamics
